What is Nutritional Therapy?
Nutritional Therapy is a holistic individualised scientific evidence based approach to promote optimal health through diet and life style.
We are all different and Naturopathic Nutritional Therapy aims to get to the root causes of your individual symptoms and support your body through diet and lifestyle. The aim is to promote your general wellbeing, feel your best and live your life to the full.
As well as diet and lifestyle sometimes testing can be useful in getting to understand the root cause and supplements may be helpful in achieving health goals.
How long will it take to work?
Naturopathic nutritional therapy works within a functional medicine framework on the basis that all systems in the body are interlinked and therefore impact the health of each other. Our aim is to balance the systems of the body as well as getting to the root cause of your symptoms.
Making changes to your diet and lifestyle takes personal commitment, but we will be here to support you throughout your package. Some clients start to experience life improving results within a few weeks whilst for others it may take longer.
How will the consultations work?
To prepare for our first consultation, we will email you a health questionnaire, food diary, and terms of engagement. These forms need to be completed and returned at least 7 days prior to the initial appointment.
This will be followed by an initial consultation. During this, we review and dig deeper into your answers to the questionnaire and information from your diet diary. This process will then form the basis of your personalised and negotiated nutrition and lifestyle plan so that we can achieve your goals.
If applicable, a letter will be written to your GP to inform them of any specific matters they should know or ask for relevant tests that may help get to root cause of your symptoms. Further testing may also form part of your plan if appropriate.
Following the consultation you will receive an individualised plan, meal plans, educational resources, and a discounted supplement programme. This will be sent to you via the portal within 5 days. If you are on a package a check call will happen after 2 weeks. Its purpose is to answer any questions to make any useful adjustments to your plan. You are also welcome to message us via the portal over the duration of the package. Further support is available if you book another 20-minute check-in call.
Thrive Naturally works closely with medical professionals. Clients may be referred to their GP for testing or diagnosis. A review of the blood tests will be given either via the portal or in person if a check-in call is booked.
Thrive Naturally may recommend a functional medicine laboratory test to identify the source of any imbalance and symptoms. Although these aren't mandatory, they can help in identifying nutritional support areas and alleviate guesswork when creating a custom diet plan that addresses your individual needs. Tests can be performed by taking samples such as saliva, blood, breath or stool. Support will be given on how to perform the test. If a functional test is recommended and chosen during the consultation, it will be charged at an additional fee. We will discuss this in the consultation.
